Book Reception: Alive Korean Language Textbook Series for Asian Learners

The National Institute of the Korean Language has been making a great effort introducing and
spreading Korean language to the world by establishing Korean language institutes abroad, called
Sejong Academy, running Korean language classes, and publishing Korean language textbooks.
Now, Asian people, especially Chinese, Vietnamese, Philippine, Thai, and Mongolian are able to
have better access to Korean language learning throughout the Alive Korean Language Textbook
Series written by the National Institute of the Korean Language and published by Hollym Corp.,
Publishers. These textbook series, written in five Asian languages, each consists of Writing,
Speaking, Listening and Reading section separately and is designed to help learners build
fundamental knowledge of the Korean language and communicate well with native Korean speakers.
Also, Speaking and Listening books contain audio CDs to help learners be exposed to authentic
Korean-speaking situations. The National Institute of the Korean Language originally published
English edition through Hollym Corp., Publishers and translated them into the five Asian languages
this time. The National Institute of the Korean Language will hold a book reception to celebrate its
publication on the 19th of January, 2009 at Seoul Press Center.
